TIME LIMITS: 55 Mins (Except State is 75 mins)

HOME RUN RULE:

Mixed (Coed): C/B  5 (5) Home Runs per team, Per Gender.  Excessive HR’s are DBO’s.

Mixed (Coed) D Three (3) Home Runs per team, Per Gender.   Excessive HR’s are IEO’s.

Mixed (Coed) 1 One  (1) Home Runs per team, Per Gender.   Excessive HR’s are IEO’s.

COURTESY RUNNERS: One (1) courtesy runner per inning (one time) may be used. The courtesy runner can be any player on the roster.  If the courtesy runner is still on base at the time his/her turn to bat comes up, that spot in the batting order will be an out. spot in the batting order will be an out.  After the courtesy runner rule, we put in Effect: If a second runner of the inning or one not from the lineup enters the game and the defensive team completes a proper appeal before the next pitch, or illegal pitchers’ action, intentional walk or before all fielders have left fair territory, the runner will be declared out with no further action.

DUGOUT RULE: Only players, coaches and score keepers are allowed in the dugout.

ON DECK RULE: Only one on deck batter and 1 coach in each box, all others are to be in the dugout.

PROFANITY AND TAUNTING: This will not be tolerated and based on umpire discretion.

BAT RULE: Only the new 240 stamp bats will be allowed.  Anyone caught using an unstamped bat will be an out and ejected from the game.  Anyone using an altered bat will be ejected from the tournament. Please cover this in your pre-game.

BALL RULE: The Tournament Director will supply 2 Mens game balls & 2 Womens game balls (Any Classic M, Pro M or Hard Cord ball is allowed with a USSSA or GSL Stamp)

BATTING: All teams may bat up to 12 players, 5 Males and 5 females can play defense at any time & anywhere on the field.  Exception: Conference Events

10 PLAYER RULE Any team may start with 9 players, they must take an out in the 10th position and they may add the 10th player only at any time. Note: If a team starts with 9 players, a female player must occupy the first position in the batting order.  Batting order must be set at Male/Female every other batting order.

Player Ranking (PRV) A female player may play 1 class down, Mens player must play at current PRV Class. Example: Mixed D team can have all women C PRV players, Mixed D team cannot have ANY male C PRV players.

PITCHING: 50 feet, the pitcher must toe the rubber.

There will be NO grace time added prior to game start time * Teams must have line ups in and be ready for play 30 mins before scheduled game time * GAMES WILL START EARLY!

Except amended by the Utah State By-Laws Tournament rules, all rules of United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA/GSL) will be used

Mixed (Coed) Upper and Lowers Guidelines

Womens teams will play one of the following formats:

1- All teams will play into a Double Elimination Bracket, if your team happens to lose their 1st 2 games, they will than drop into a losers bracket Double Elimination bracket. *”If” We have enough Coed teams we will add a 3 drop down into a Single Elimination bracket. (Meaning if you happen to lose your 1st 4 games you would drop in to this Single)

2- Teams will start in a 2-game pool play with the top winning teams going into a Single Elimination Winners bracket, and the lower teams will drop into a Single Elimination Lower bracket.

3- Teams will be set into divisions “Uppers & Lowers.”

Examples of Uppers teams Vs Lower teams.

  • An Upper team may have ANY players PRV (Players Class, E,D,C, B Etc.)
  • A Lower team may not have ANY Player that has a PRV Higher than D-Elite (No C PRV Players)

Mixed (Coed) Teams that are planning on going to USSSA or GSL Worlds will work with Their State Director to make sure that their team is classified correctly.

Registered Mixed (Coed)  E Teams

May have womens players whos PRVs as D, but no C PRVs. Male players PRV can only be E, No D PRV or higher male players.

Registered Mixed (Coed) D Teams

May have Womens players whos PRVs as C, but no B PRVs. Male players PRV can only be D, No C or higher PRV male players.

May have Womens players whos PRVs as B, but no A PRVs. Male players PRV can only be C, No C or higher PRV male players.
