RULES
Welcome to the 2024 UGLY SWEATER Softball Tournament.
Format: The teams will play into a Double elimination bracket, with a dropdown single elimination bracket.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING ONE $15 WRAPPED WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT PER PLAYER
Playing Time: 50 minutes (including Championship Game). The games will start on the hour * There will be NO grace time added proir to game start time * Team’s must be ready for play 30 min’s before schudeled game time * GAMES WILL START EARLY IF POSSIBLE
Rules will be USSSA Modified
Except amended by the Utah State By-Laws Tournament rules, all rules of United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) will be used.
No Forfeit rule: At game-time, the game will start with as few as 8 players present. If there is less than 10, there will be an automatic out for each missing player. *If batting an odd amount, the auto out will be in place.
All teams are responsible for their spectators.
Run rule: 20 Run’s after 5 innings. * NO flip flop
Tournament Director will supply 2 Mens balls & 2 Womens balls. Any Classic M, Pro M ball, Classic W or Hard-Core ball Stamped with USSSA Or GSL is allowed
Home-run Rule: 1 per game all others are outs. Teams may buy up to 4 per game giviving them a max of 5 HRs per game *1 for $5 or 4 for $20 ( HR tickets do no carry over to the next game)
Umpires will keep score
Count starts 1-1, Pitch hight is 3-10, Mat & Plate will be called a strike
Any Director can ask for a bat for any reason at any time. ONLY 240 USSSA STAMPED BATS are legal for this event.
Unlimited runners, anytime anywhere per gender
Teams may bat up to 12 players in ANY order.
Teams may 5/5, 6/6, 6/4 & 7/5 (1st Number is male players, 2nd number is female players)
*No more than 6 males defensive players on the field
