Mixed/Coed
Time Limits
- Games will be limited to 55 minutes.
Home Run Rule
- Uppers: Each team is allowed 4 Home Runs. Home Runs hit by women are unlimited. Excessive Home Runs are considered DBO’s (Dead Ball Outs).
- Lowers: Each team is allowed 2 Home Runs. Home Runs hit by women are unlimited. Excessive Home Runs are considered IEO’s (Inning Ending Outs).
Courtesy Runners
- Each team is allowed one courtesy runner per gender, per inning.
Profanity and Taunting
- Profanity and taunting will not be tolerated and are subject to penalties at the discretion of the umpire.
Bat Rule
- Only bats with the new 240 stamp will be allowed.
- Players caught using an unstamped bat will be called out and ejected from the game.
- Players using an altered bat will be ejected from the tournament.
Ball Rule
- The Tournament Director will provide:
- 2 Men’s game balls and 2 Women’s game balls.
- Approved balls include any Classic M/W, Pro M/W, or Hard-Core ball with a USSSA or GSL stamp.NO ONYX BALLS
Batting
- Teams may bat up to 12 players.
- Teams can field 5 males and 5 females on defense at any time, positioned anywhere on the field.
10-Player Rule
- Teams may start with 9 players but must:
- Take an out in the 10th position.
- Add the 10th player at any time.
- If starting with 9 players:
- A female player must occupy the first position in the batting order.
- Batting order must alternate between male and female.
Player Ranking (PRV)
- Lowers: No male or female players ranked D-Elite or higher are allowed.
- Uppers: Open to all players (No Major players or AA Players)
Pitching
- The pitcher must toe the rubber.
Game Start Rules
- There will be no grace period added prior to the game’s scheduled start time.
- Teams must:
- Submit lineups and be ready 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Be prepared for games to start early.
ANY PLAYER CAUGHT PLAYING WITH OUT A 2025 USSSA PLAYER CARD WILL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL THE PLAYER HAS AN ACTIVE 2025 USSSA PLAYERS CARD
Applicable Rules
Unless amended by the Utah State By-Laws, all games will adhere to United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA/GSL) rules.
Mixed (Coed) Teams that are planning on going to USSSA or GSL Worlds will work with Their State Director to make sure that their team is classified correctly.
